Obituary:
Arturo Rolando Barrera, Sr., 88, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 19, 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Leocadia C. Barrera; parents-in-law, Edgardo and Virginia Gonzalez, Sr.; brother, Carlos M. Barrera; and brothers-and-sister-in-law, Oscar M. Laurel, Sr., Edgardo Gonzalez, Jr., and Alma Gonzalez Johnson.

Arturo is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years of marriage Virginia G. Barrera; sons and daughters Arturo (Gloria Estela) Rolando Barrera, Jr., Esther (Manuel) Gutierrez, Miguel (Elia Norma) Edgardo Barrera, Guillermo (Socorro) J. Barrera and Gilberto (Ruby) L. Barrera; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Vera Buitron Barrera, Elsa Laurel and Gloria V. Gonzalez; and brother-in-law Tom Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to: Dr. Milton Haber and his Staff as well as the Nurses and Staff on the 2nd floor of the Laredo Specialty Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.
